Before we headed back home, we took advantage of the beautiful day to go for a little walk on a trail along the coast.
Poor Nora could barely stay awake, since she’s used to napping with recorded ocean sounds.
And Jonah stopped to rest on a bench, after making the observation that “‘bench’ and ‘beach’ have a lot of the same letters in them.”
Then Nora got to sit and pose for some cute pictures of her first trip to the ocean.
It seemed like a nice idea to have both kids in a picture together, but Jonah is still not a big fan of being within arms’ reach. :) At least we get some funny shots out of it.
And some other nice family shots
On our way home, we stopped at the Sea Lion Caves, which is apparently the largest sea lion rookery on the coast. There were over 600 sea lions while we were visiting, and it was pretty amazing to see and hear them all.
As usual, Jonah becomes more interested in any nearby reading material.
With the ocean just a little over an hour away, we are newly inspired to make some more day trips to the beach this summer!
Looks like all had a great and warm visit, trip to the coast, and surprise, some sunshine. Trips like this will create memories to last for decades. We love your having fun like this. May see you later this summer. Love to all.
It was soooo fun sharing time at the beach with you all. Jonah and Nora are simply priceless!! Love you and miss you, too. :)
wow! The Backdrop is amazing, looks like a wonderful family in wonderful Northwest. Hope all is well.
