Merry Christmas from Jonah Claus!
The kids loved playing Santa this winter, wrapping all sorts of things in newspaper and boxes for each other to be ‘surprised’ with. One day, Jonah (with the help of fleece and safety pins) got himself all ‘Santa-ed’ up for some fun.
Then it was time to set out the cookies and milk for Santa. The kids were very particular about putting each cookie in just the right spot.
Happy and excited with their notes to Santa all ready to go.
Then here we are at Christmas dinner. Since I don’t seem to be able to take great pictures in our living room, I decided to not even try during all the gift opening festivities and just pay attention to the kids and the day. It was very nice. And yes, Nora is still wearing the same pajamas she was the night before. Hahaha…
Finally, here’s a picture I love that Jonah drew, showing how Santa delivers the gifts. Just follow the arrow! :)
Last weekend, we went out to get our Christmas tree. The kids are so excited about all the holiday preparations – lights, ornaments, decorations. They like to go for evening walks to see lights in our neighborhood and always want me to drive home a different way from wherever we go so they can see what new things they can spot. It has been a lot of fun for all of us.

So it’s been a really long time since I posted new pictures, and maybe I’ll get around to posting some of the last couple of months sometime, but for now, let’s just jump straight to Halloween!
Last weekend we visited a farm to go through a small corn maze, see a bunch of lit up jack-o-lanterns and choose pumpkins to bring home for carving.
Neither kid was remotely interested in scooping out the insides.
But they both drew on their own faces, and Jonah even did a bit of his own carving on the eyes.
With some coaxing, they were willing to reach inside to push out the cut pieces.
Happy kids with their happy pumpkins
On Halloween, the kids were so excited to walk around in their costumes. Nora really wanted to be a spider. I’m not sure where she got the idea, but once she did, she was not interested in any further suggestions. :)
And Jonah was our astronaut. No huge surprise there. He was thrilled at how much he thought he looked like a ‘real astronaut!’ Meanwhile, Nora was eager to tell anyone who would listen that, “Jonah’s going to be an astronaut, but really it’s just a pile of duct tape.”
Back home with their spoils
Taking inventory
Jonah loved finding a ‘Milky Way’ bar. He is an astronaut, after all.
Our little sugar fiend, munching away. She frequently declared that she really wanted to eat… A LOLLIPOP FOR BREAKFAST!!!
Feeding the spider
Happy astronaut (blurry, but cute anyway)
