For months, Jonah’s been sleeping with photographs of his favorite trucks. Most of them were taken of the construction vehicles outside. You’ll notice a red dump truck and a digger. The blue dump truck is upside-down under his hip, and there’s a garbage truck under his head. Through the monitor, we can listen to him have little conversations with them as he falls asleep. “Night night digger. Red truck dump dirt. Back up kuck green (garbage truck) beep beep. Red truck take a nap. Bye bye blue truck. Ah, digger dirt red truck….” It’s pretty hilarious.

The best is when he wakes up and I go in to get him, only to find him sitting there with a truck stuck to the side of his head. :)  Sadly, there are no photos of that.  Yet.

Like all babies, Jonah’s pretty adorable when he’s sleeping. But getting him to sleep – especially for naps – is tricky enough that I never want to take the chance of waking him up by taking a picture. Yesterday, though, he was still sleeping at 4:00 and I had to wake him up anyway…

“Awww… what did you do that for???”

Then he (strangely) wanted to keep playing in his crib for nearly another half-hour. He’d ask for me to pick him up, and then as I reached out my hands, he would crack up and dive back on the mattress and say, ‘nightnight’. It was apparently a very fun game.
