This week, we carved the first of the small pumpkins that we got from the farm. As expected, Nora was totally happy to stick her hands in the goop, and as expected, Jonah still wanted nothing to do with cleaning out the insides. We had to put Nora in the Bumbo just to keep her from crawling through (and trying to eat) all the seeds.
After the messiest parts were done, Jonah did want to help saw out the shapes for the eyes and nose. He also requested “a scary tooth face with triangle teeth”, so that’s what we did. I tried to get him to reach inside just to push out the pieces after they were cut, but he would have none of it. ;) Here he is trying to make the scary tooth face just like the pumpkin (which he named Jonah).
Then we went into his room to test out the light. I picked up some cheap LED pumpkin lights so he could have it in his room when he falls asleep.
A picture with no flash
And the flash!
ABSOLUTELY PRECIOUS!!! Nora’s reaction is no surprise, since she loves adventure, and we remember Jonah never was too fond of the guts, but loves the finished product. Have a GREAT night trick or treatin’ !! :)
Jonah, do you think your pumpkin will go
BOOOOOOOOO! in the night? Maybe?
