The Big Slide

I won a 10-visit family pass to the local pool recently(!), and we just went this week to check it out. Nora totally loved it – she likes watching the fountains, bobbing up and down, splashing in the water, and smiling at other kids. Jonah, however, said that he wanted to go home pretty much from the moment he stepped foot in the pool. He was really worried that the water up to his knees was too deep and didn’t want to be carried in. Then he watched some people go down this slide:

And even though he had been concerned that one foot of water was too deep, he decided that he did, in fact, really want to go down that slide. So we practiced walking around in some deeper water together, watched more people come down, and then got in line. He sat on my lap, and I made sure to hold him up at the end so his head wouldn’t go under.

He LOVED it! As soon as we got out, he was jumping up and down asking to go again. :) Then when we went back today, it’s pretty much the only thing he really wanted to do.

And it’s so nice to have our friend, Jessi, visiting to take these great pictures.

And it’s only a short hop from waterslides to roller coasters — Sara, you have raised your son well. ;)
