We had a nice spring day this weekend, so we went to explore the nearby Mt. Pisgah Arboretum. There was a nice one mile loop trail along the river, and Jonah hiked the whole thing.
He even carried his own (empty) backpack.
And he brought along a monocular to look at things far away.
We attempted some self-family photos…
This one cracks me up a bit.
Nora traveled in the carrier for a while…
…but then she wanted to come out and get a better look around.
Checking out some purple flowers
Of course, she wants to eat them.
And someday, it would be nice to get a picture of the two kids together, but Jonah just gets really nervous when he’s asked to sit next to Nora. He knows how quickly she can go from being happy to crying very loudly and doesn’t want to take any chances of being that close when it happens. :)
In all, it was a great way to spend a nice warm morning!
Loved all the pictures, but especially #’s 1 and 3. #1 because Jonah looked so much like Sean when we first started hiking and he was about Jonah’s age, and #2 because we also did Big Guy first and Little Guy second for so many years, covering many miles altogether.
Erratum: #2 above should be #3.
I cracked up at the second family portrait, too — Nora looks like she wants to hide from all you silly people. :)
