Big Brother and Little Sister

Jonah was pretty glad to see his mom and baby sister finally come home yesterday. He did a great job with all the changes in routine and babysitting arrangements, but three days away was starting to take its toll on the little guy. (Sadly, he couldn’t visit in the hospital because of the H1N1 restrictions.) When I saw him again, it was amazing how much bigger he looked and felt after spending days with a newborn. :)

Nora got a lot of shy giggly smiles from her brother. It was a very sweet meeting.

He checked out her tiny little toes…

…and of course, played her a song on his ukulele. She was awake, and he seemed very pleased that she appeared to be watching him.

When he woke up from his nap today, I went in to get him and he said, “Dad is holding baby Nora so Mom could come say ‘Good morning, Jonah!’ to you.” But really, Nora was waiting to see him on the couch. Jonah started pointing out the letters on her sleeper.

And when Nora waves her arms around, Jonah says, “Is that baby Nora waving to you?!!” and is totally thrilled by the idea. :)

So cute!! That little face says it all :). What a lucky little girl to have Jonah for a big brother— and of course the two of you for parents. Love you all.

Aww, this is what I’ve been waiting (not-so-patiently) for! Thanks for posting this. The last photo is just so adorable.

Oh Sara! So precious!!! I love it. I think its funny that you thought Jonah seemed so big. Everybody said I would think that, so I think I was expecting it. Instead she seemed so young!! The first 3 days I felt like I had TWO infants….nothing to do with her behavior, but I think it was just my shock that I had two under two! :) It was really weird and totally opposite of what everybody told me.

Just wait until Nora really does start watching him and he can make her smile. That is one of Cora’s favorite things right now with Owen! :)

That little Nora is just beautiful. Her big brother seems very happy she is there with him, and she is one lucky little girl to have such a great brother. Sorry Nora, but Auntie Cheryl was spelling your name with an h on the end. I hope I don’t do that again. I am so happy to see these beautiful pictures.
    Love,
Auntie Cheryl, and Uncle Chuck too !
