When we left Blacksburg, our wonderful playgroup buddies gave us a gift card to get something for Jonah to use in the backyard because they knew we were excited for him to have his own outdoor spot to play at our new house. This past weekend, we got a swingset and got it all put together. Jonah was so excited to wake up from his nap and find that “Mom made a slide and a swing when you were sleeping!”
I thought we might have to get a separate ‘baby swing’ to hang up for him for a while, but he’s really doing a great job balancing and swinging on the big kid swings.
As he was riding on this one (and saying, “Wheeeee”), I told him that it had two seats so sometime he could ride on it with a friend on the other side.
He said, “This seat is for Jonah, and that seat is for Luke.”
He loves climbing up the ladder for the slide.
Then he went inside and said he had to go get his ukulele to sing a song about the slide and the swings. And he did.
Then he played some music with his shadow.
We brought some of his trucks outside to drive down the slide, and he thought that was great fun!
“That dump truck went down so fast and then tipped over!”
Thanks, everyone! We miss you all a lot!
YEA A SWING SET!!! So fun!!
That is great! And it’s so sweet that he has a seat reserved for Luke on the seesaw.
How nice that your friends made the swing set possible. Obviously, Jonah will get many hours of enjoyment from it. It is so touching that he says one of the seats is for Luke. He will soon have many friends just as nice as Luke. Absolutely love the pictures. Thanks again and again,Sara. Love to you all.
