“And It’s Raining, Raining, Raining…”

Background story: Yesterday after naptime, Jonah and I decided to take a walk to a different park near our house. We got all ready and went out the front door to see some pretty dark clouds in the sky. I said I’d go back in and look at the computer to see if it was supposed to rain, but the radar looked totally clear, so I thought we’d be ok. Well, we went about three blocks before it started raining pretty good on us, and since we didn’t have our raincoats, we turned around to head back home. Once we were inside, Jonah grabbed his ukulele and started singing about the experience. He kept this up for the better part of a half-hour while I started getting things ready for dinner.

First you will hear the main song, and then he goes off talking about how I checked the computer, and then we started walking, and then we turned around, and then it was raining… Also, he’s getting pretty good at getting the ukulele strap on and off by himself, and he decided that he needed his Mariners hat on backwards for this song. :)

Oh, and from what the locals tell us about the weather here, he may be singing this song for most of the next six months or so…

Hey Jonah, what progress you are making with the guitar. Now you not only strum, but you also do the down beat and two up beats, and you keep time with your foot. What a guy!! Enjoyed your show. “Clap, Clap” from Bellevue!!

As for the rain, lots of No Westerner have sayings about it. However, the bests,we think, are that “You don’t have to shovel it” and “Its good for your complexion.” Also, Nw’ers tend to rationalize it by noting that most N.W. towns have less rain that other places in the “Hew Hes of Hay.” Last of all is the rumor that, “It really doesn’t rain, it just mists — oh yeah!!

Bestes any of us can do is “splash” “splash.” Note that real NWers don’t use umbrellas. Love, Gran and Gradad

Yeah, real NWers wear ball caps! :) Great tune, Jonah!

  4. Looks like Jonah is enjoying his new home and all the nearby parks. Seems to be adjusting well. I am sure that you are all very busy. Hope that you are liking your new job and location. Sorry I didn’t get to say an official “goodbye” before you left. Best Wishes!
