Today, Jonah and I set out to explore one of the local parks, and it ended up being a pretty awesome one. A lot of the slides and ladders were too big for him now, but there was plenty for him to do at his size.
First, here he is driving our new car. He loves steering wheels (shocking, I know), and when I told him we were going to a new park this morning, he said, “Maybe the new park will have steering wheels in it.”
And it did.
We found a slug who was out enjoying the 50 degree morning before it gets up to 90 degrees for the afternoon.
Pumping some fake water
“Is Jonah peeking out of this house at Mom?”
This is not the best picture, but every so often, water runs down this rocky ‘riverbed’ and curves around a bit before coming out into the large sandbox below. There were kids extending the rivers into the sand, building dams and waterfalls, and digging lakes. It was one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen at a park.
There was also this ‘rain tree’ which periodically showered down, and Jonah liked sticking his hands in it and saying how cold it was. :)
And, of course, the swings…
Is that Riverplay?
Hi Jonah,
Wow what a beautiful park. I hope you have lots of fun and find lots of friends to play with in that park
Love you,
Nanny and Granpy
