Even Closer…

Jonah and I play a little game where he sits at one end of the hallway and I come out of a bedroom at the other end and crawl down to him. Usually he gets excited, squeals, and kicks his legs. Today, he started to try to get away. As soon as I popped out of the door, he wanted to make a run for it. We think that if I do this enough, this will be how he finally figures out how to crawl.

  1. Awesome Aunt Lisa says

Wow, Jonah, you’ve gotten so much better even since I saw you Thursday! I can’t wait to see what happens once you’re able to get around on your own. :)

  2. Go Jonah! Those cute little baby legs look like they are in excellent crawling condition… soon your parents won’t be able to keep up with you!

  3. He’s coming along. The stiff leg and arm posture is called a “Bear Crawl.” If he jumps from that postutre, it is called a “Frog” crawl. His rolling is also a form of crawling, too. There are “crab” and “frog” forms of crawling also, depnding on how a baby uses his legs and arms. The best form is all four limbs down and flexed, like an aninal running. Soon his experimenting will slow as he learns how to get from here to there more efficiently. As I said, he is coming along nicely. Keep up the tummy time and the play thing.
