Eight Months Old

He’s growing so fast… *sniff sniff*

Over the past week, Jonah has become more determined in his walking around. He used to be happy to travel in whatever direction we pointed him, but now he has an agenda. If he doesn’t want to go somewhere, he stops moving his feet. If he wants to go a different way, he twists his body away from the way we are steering him. It’s fun to watch him make such obvious choices about what he wants to be doing. He loves to go into our room to bang on the piano, he’s already terribly attracted to the tv/dvd/vcr area, and he runs to greet Sean when he gets home from work (and enjoys following him from room to room). It’s incredibly cute.

Some pictures from his happy playtime this morning…

I made him a new cloth ball last night, and he had a good time batting it around.

The dump truck is still a hit, and he cracks up at these squeaky animals!

Jonah is fascinated with wheels wherever he can find them – in parking lots, on toys, on other babies’ strollers…

Blowing raspberries is the preferred method of communication with his toys.

He’s a happy boy!

    Dearest Sara,

Yes, it does go fast, but there are many more years of joy. He is such a beautiful baby (of course we are not prejudiced at all!!!!. You should be very happy with your parenting. Might share that idea with Sean a bit, also.

    Love,

    Grandad

Hey Sara! Thanks for the cute update. Jonathan and I were complimenting your craftiness with the ball – he thinks you may have a future as a sweatshop overlord. Also, we’ve decided to call Jonah’s expression in the last photo “square face.” Jonah, once you start rocking the teeth, I’ll teach you about triangle face.

  3. Jonah, is that blue animal in the back of your pickup a hippopotamus??? That is awesome. Your Aunt Jeanne hearts hippos. Come visit soon and we can watch some Animal Planet!

Oh yeah, Aunt Jeanne hearts Jonah, too! :)

Sara, that ball you made for Jonah is incredible!! (a talent that must have skipped my generation) :) He has to be the luckiest little boy ever to have the two of you. Love you all.
