The day after we returned from our big East Coast vacation, our little boy turned FOUR years old. :) We were all pretty tired from the travels, but Jonah still seemed pleased with his birthday, as it was mainly filled with baseball, trains, and cake. Doesn’t get much better than that for him.
For breakfast, he had his favorite standard – eggs and toast. But it’s so much more fun when you turn your toast into a ballfield and use eggs for the bases.
Later he opened some presents.
Nora had a hard time understanding that the presents weren’t for her. She did her best to sneak in some unwrapping help whenever she could.
Both kids were very excited to see new Thomas tracks and trains, and Jonah has been a good big brother, letting her play along with his special toys, too.
He got a few baseball-related gifts as well – a Phillies lunch bag for school and some batting gloves from Nora. He looooves his batting gloves and even wants to sleep with them on. Funny boy.
I quickly realized that I was not going to get a cake baked after getting home so late the night before, but I did add a baseball field to a delicious chocolate cake from the store. And what pitcher’s mound is complete without those two marks for a rosin bag and cleat cleaner? Really.
And Jonah gets in a little sneak of the frosting while Dad serves the cake. ;)
