Picking Strawberries

It’s strawberry time! We drove out to a farm north of town on Friday to enjoy the nice weather and get some tasty fruit. It was a bit tricky trying to pick berries, while also encouraging Jonah to pick some AND keeping Nora from walking on plants, pulling off green berries or eating ones that had already been stepped on. But we managed to collect about half a bucket which made for a great snack, dessert, and breakfast treat the next morning.

Nora loved popping the juicy berries right in her mouth.

Jonah was in charge of the bucket. It was his ‘berry freight.’

The farm also had some goats that were fun to watch. Nora especially loved the animals.

And there was an old-fashioned tractor to sit on.

And a playground area where both kids had fun climbing and sliding. Nora’s getting to be quite a little climber, and she was going up this ladder all by herself!

Jonah’s at the top.

Here she comes!

WOW! That sure brings back the memories– by the colander-full! :) One of the best early summer fun things ever!

Hey everyone, what fun — as well as good eating.

Sean used to be distracted from the berries by finding and bringing slugs to show what he had found. For a few days we called him “Sluggo.” (Haven’t thought of that story for years!!!!)

    Love,

    Grandad
