On one of our very hot days, Jessi and I headed out early to take the kids to our great park with the huge sandbox and water features. It was one of the first times Jonah really spent time working on something in the sand. As much as he loves trucks and the idea of construction, he is not too thrilled about actually getting very dirty. On this day though, he did quite a bit of digging and helped make a castle (which later turned into a rest stop for the dump truck driver).
Nora sat on the side and was happy to watch Jonah and the other kids playing in the sand.
She was pretty pleased to get her hands on a shovel.
And then examined (but did not eat!) the sand on her fingers.
Nora was also a big fan of the ‘water tree’, reaching out to try to grab the water as it came down. Jonah even let himself get a little wet, too.
Later, back at the house, we played in the yard for a little bit after Nora won the I-will-not-take-a-nap battle.
Thanks for a great visit! Miss you guys already!
These are wonderful pictures, Sara. I loved the intensity with which Jonah was “building” with his toys in the sand . Equally warm and exciting were the pictures of Nora with Jessi. One could hear her baby girl giggles — almost.
