Another beautiful weekend here, so we went out for a hike to the Cascades.
Sean reports that Jonah is a much heavier load than he was last year when we did this hike with him.
Jonah also wanted to get down to hike around for himself. He learned about moss and tried to throw rocks in the stream to make a splash.
He got really sleepy on the way up and was starting to nod off as we got near the waterfall, but he was more than happy to wake up for his snack once we were there.
Photos with the waterfall…
He loves climbing up and down stairs now and usually asks to do it “by self.”
On the way back down, the trail is a little less intense, so he got to do some more hiking on his own, and was frequently stopping to pick up acorns and sticks. (Whenever he picks up a big stick, he pretends to strum it like a guitar.)
Jonah gets a hand with some of the big rocky parts.
What a big hiker!
Love the sweatshirt, Jonah!!!
Dear Sharps, what a touching and memory producing group of pictures!
Sean, do you remember throwing rocks into the “Stilly” on the mountain loop highway? I’ll wager Jonah is not as heavy as your sister on the overnight to Hyas Lake — but he will be!!! As for things “picked up,” I still have rocks and sticks in one place or another, mostly the garage, everyone a memory jog. I am so glad you are doing these kinds of things. Love, Dad/Grandad
