For the past few weeks, Jonah and I have been going to the rec center for an activity time they have for toddlers. The woman who runs it is great – she sets up all kinds of interesting things to climb on, throw, bounce on, crawl through, and she also sings songs for the kids and has a bubble machine. Jonah has a great time and keeps getting more and more comfortable with all the things there. Today was the first time he crawled all the way through the big tunnel and even played on the huge parachute that had been a little scary for him before.
Hey there busy boy. Gosh, there is just so much to do with all this growing up stuff, isn’t there. Wears a guy out, right?
Taking Riley to our version of the Toddler Gym was one of my favorite activities. The only slightly problematic part were the little cars that the kids could ride around in, sort of Fred Flintstone style. There weren’t enough of them to meet demand (fortunately I think!), so Riley would make a beeline to one of them as soon as we walked in the door. If if it was in use he would hover glumly next to it until whichever kid was driving it would give up. Sometimes that was 1 minute, sometimes 15. Tense!
