Witnessing History

While watching the inauguration festivities today, Jonah had more TV time than in the rest of his life put together. His favorite parts were the motorcade (big surprise) and watching people playing instruments.

When they showed shots of the enormous crowds on the Mall, I said, “Look at all those people!” and Jonah said, “Woooooowwww.”

Obama takes the oath of office. What a relief!

And Jonah loved my other favorite moment, watching W get helicoptered back to Texas!

I’ve looked at this set of photos about ten times – they make me happy! :) He’s going to love having these photos someday for sure. Well, he’ll love all of those photos you’ve taken, but you know what I mean.

    Hi Jonah,
It is soooo great to see our little great grandson looking on at the greatest election we have had since John Kennedy (even better) How great little man to be part of this wonderful occasion, you will now start to have a wonderful loving life of people, times and yes maybe finally peace in our world. Let’s hope this man will do it!!!!
    Love to you all,

  4. What great photos – for now and for much later!!! My nephew just had a baby girl on January 20. I think Mom held off so that Keira would be born under Obama’s administration! She was born at 12:45 PM!!!

I have a day care in my home and I let the children watch the inaguration. When the almost 4 year old saw the helicopter taking Bush away, she yelled into the TV” “Goodbye Old President”!
