With the start of baseball season comes lots of baseball reenactments. Nora’s getting in on the fun and loves to play the role of ‘injured player’ while Jonah is the ever-responsive trainer. :)

We’ve had quite a bit of beautiful weather lately. Lots of playing outdoors, swinging, riding bikes, and picnics at the park.
Picnic time!
And Nora and I went down the street to help plant seeds at the community garden a week or so ago. She’s a big helper, and everyone loves to see her there.
Finally, just a cool photo of Nora’s first written word. She’s been writing a few letters lately (mostly J, O, and H, so that she “can write Jonah!”) Jonah decided that she should be also able to write “HI”, and he was so proud to see that she could. He even wanted to be in the picture with her and her word. So sweet.
The kids enjoyed waking up today to find baskets of candy at the table and were excited to look around the living room for all the eggs that the Easter Bunny hid in funny spots.
One in the stroller!
In the Phillie Phanatic’s shirt?!

Happy Easter!
So yeah, about those sunny days from the last post….
We woke up this morning to a couple of inches of snow, and it’s continued to come down through the morning. I’d guess there’s about five inches out there now, which is by far the most snow we’ve had since moving here. Jonah drew up plans for a snowman after breakfast, and then we got all bundled up and went out to make one. The university was closed this morning, so we had Sean home to help make the huge snowballs. Hooray!
Nora was a little less impressed with the whole scene.
Snowman’s getting bigger…
A very large chunk of a tree fell down across the street, and it was perfect for breaking off arms for our snowman. Nora got to walk over there in a tire track, which worked a little better for her, but she still wasn’t very pleased.
I managed to get her to look happy for a minute anyway. Snowy photo ops and all… (you can see the fallen tree on the left behind her.)
Jonah was very happy to carry back a great arm branch.
“I LOVE this snowman!!”
Awww… Kids and their big snowman. :) They like being able to climb up on the couch and check on him from inside, too.
March has been kind enough to give us some teeny glimpses of springtime this year. After quite a few days of constant rain, the “blue skies came out!” We took a slow walk around the neighborhood this morning to throw rocks in puddles and find flowers.
Nora shows off her flowers.
Jonah noticed a worm wiggling in a sidewalk crack, and Nora needed to check it out, too.
Then they practiced their jumping skills.

Walking through the ‘petal snow’
Last week we had a day that even cracked 60 degrees. I planted some lettuce, and Jonah had the greatest time hosing down the outdoor play kitchen.
