At the park!

Since our recent move, we’ve been spending some time at the local neighborhood park. It’s a great park with a biking trail around it and many play structures. Here are some photos of our bike trip there yesterday.

Run, Jump and Throw at Hayward Field

On Saturday I took the kids down to Hayward Field as the University of Oregon’s Track and Field team held an event before their meet that was just for kids. The youngest advertised age bracket was ages 5-6, but they pretty much let all kids that could walk and follow directions the chance to participate. Below are some photos of the event and when I have time, I plan on putting a short video together of some of the events. Even in the northwest rain a good time was had by all.

October Recap

Many baseball games in October.  Our weather stayed nice through much of the fall, so the kids got to practice lots of hitting.  Nora’s really getting the hang of it and has a pretty ferocious swing.

September Recap

Getting back on track with pictures…  here are some from back in September.

The weather was still great.  Lots of time outside.

Jonah learned to pump the swings all by himself.

And they both use the swingset to ‘stretch’ before their big baseball games.

We rode bikes on some closed streets downtown.  The kids loved following the yellow lines.

We found Saturn on the scale model solar system along the bike trail!

Ate corn on the cob.

Jonah started his kindergarten year of school.  What a big kid!
IMG_0746
Here we are at school, dropping him off for his first day.  He’s having a great year.
IMG_0561
He’s really into word games these days, especially scrabble-type ones.  Hooray!
IMG_0732
And he loves maps, too. Just like his Uncle David.
IMG_0735
And still reads all the time.  Even when he’s sleeping.

While Jonah was in school, Nora did some long (2 mile!!) bike rides on her balance bike!
She was sooo proud!!
IMG_0728
She made it to the sun!
IMG_0729
She got some new shoes, which she loved because “they have a red stripe like the Phillies are red!”
IMG_0745
And she’s joining the boys of the family with strumming and singing.
She learns songs very quickly.

Finally, I had another birthday.  My family got me my very own Phillies shirt.  Awwww….  :)
