Typing

Sean brought home an old keyboard from work for Jonah to bang on since he goes after ours so much. Sean’s already taught Jonah the space bar and enter key, which Jonah will find when he’s asked.

That’s some intense typing.

Here’s Jonah’s husky dog. He loooooves this dog and carries it around and gives it hugs all day.

On the Couch

Jonah feels pretty grown up and special sitting on the couch…

Playing with toys

He often likes to treat his toys to a ride in his rocking chair. Here he loads it up with puzzle pieces.

Watch out. He eats cars.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JONAH!!!

img_5037.JPG

Jonah started off his birthday by sleeping in, ensuring that his parents would be significantly more rested than they were a year ago… He had breakfast and opened a couple of his presents.

Then we headed out for Jonah’s favorite park. Unfortunately, it started raining as we walked out the door, so we took a detour to let him run around our tiny mall. We laughed about taking our baby to the mall for his birthday.

img_4997.JPG

But then the rain (mostly) stopped, so we did make it to the park after all. (Interestingly, the only other family there also had a boy celebrating his first birthday today!)

The puddles on the slide were fun to splash in!

After his nap, Jonah got to open his special present from his dad and mom – his very own ukulele! He LOVES it!!!

Then it was time for cake. I made him a guitar cake, complete with Cheerio tuners. Jonah did not overlook this detail. :)

“Ooohhh… I want that Cheerio cake!”

Now, let me remind you that this is a kid who eats literally EVERYthing that he’s ever been given (and some things he wasn’t): spinach, salmon, plain uncooked tofu, fruits, avocado, bread, lentils, mulch, dirt, dead bugs…

Cake and ice cream – not eating it. It’s apparently an acquired taste.

So, it was back to the presents. He liked reading his cards, or ‘books’, as he calls them. You will notice in many of these pictures that Jonah intensely searched out wheels at every opportunity.

Thanks to all who sent cards and packages, left comments, and made phone calls to help celebrate this little guy’s birthday. He knows he is loved by many!

Husky Baby

Jonah finally fits into his Washington Husky outfit that his Gran and Grandad sent almost a year ago. He was looking awfully cute while having a fun time with the Kroger balloon that he got at the store this afternoon.

He also LOVES the Ichiro bobblehead doll that Sean has. Several times a day, he goes over to the shelf and points up at it. When Ichiro comes down to say hello, he gets very happy!

Jonah’s Bookshelf

Since Jonah was going to repeatedly pull off whatever was in the bottom of our computer desk, we decided to turn it into a little bookshelf – full of things he should pull off. He will happily spend 15-20 minutes surrounding himself with books and flipping through pages while I eat my breakfast, and he revisits the book lineup often throughout the day.
